Lily | Monkey Park Opelika Senior Photos

Lily’s senior session was so fun and creatively inspiring in ways you probably wouldn’t understand just by looking at the photos, which is why we have blogs to give you the behind the scenes scoop!

Let’s start with the basics - Lily is an Opelika High senior, and younger sister to a beautiful senior I worked with last year, Hannah! Over the course of Hannah’s senior year, I was able to work with both Hannah and Lily in front of the camera, and these girls have always been so great at finding different moods and expressions! I was so excited to see Lily again as she celebrates her own senior year.

We knew we wanted a little more of a moody session vibe, but one note that stood out to me during planning was that Lily LOVES Twilight, and wanted to know if we could pull that in somehow. I suggested Monkey Park because it has a creek and some foresty areas that could photograph more moody, and the playground gives a kind of school theme, but she didn’t want anything that was super obvious like bringing the books as props.

Jump to session day, and the weather is PERFECT! Not sunny pretty perfect, but perfect for the mood - misty and overcast! We put on the Twilight playlist, found tiny little flowers and channeled Edward and Bella’s meadow, and when it came time to edit, I had fun playing with the color grading from the Twilight and New Moon films for these photos. I loved this and am so happy Lily did too!
