Dylan Senior Portraits + Family Session Auburn AL
Dylan’s senior session was such a fun mix of personality, family, and meaningful locations around Auburn! I first met Dylan earlier in the school year during our big Auburn High School spirit photoshoot, but this time the spotlight was all on him, and a few sweet family moments too.
We started the session at the Auburn Public Library, which couldn’t have been a more fitting location for Dylan. He’s an avid reader with a deep appreciation for epic fantasy novels, especially those by Brandon Sanderson. (If you know Sanderson’s work, you know the Cosmere universe is no small commitment!) Dylan brought along his favorite book, Mistborn, as a photo prop, but not just any copy! His edition was a stunning, leather-bound version personally signed by the author himself. Such a cool, personal detail that added so much meaning to his senior portraits!
Our second stop was Auburn High School, where Dylan changed into his cap and gown for some classic graduation portraits. Those moments always hit differently. It’s like the reality of graduation really starts to sink in. From there, we took a few photos with the Auburn Tiger statue in the courtyard while he wore his Auburn University polo, because Dylan won’t be going far after graduation! He’s planning to attend Auburn University (War Eagle!), and we wanted to include that next chapter of his story in his senior session.
To finish the day, we headed out to Chewacla State Park, where we hiked down to the hidden falls, a stunning backdrop for photos and a fun adventure for everyone! It was actually the family’s first time making that hike, and they’ve already planned to go back to enjoy it again. While we were there, Dylan’s parents joined in for a few family photos, including a special portrait of just the two of them in honor of their milestone anniversary this year.
I was so impressed by Dylan throughout the whole session. He was kind, conversational, and a natural in front of the camera (even if photos aren’t exactly his favorite activity). His session perfectly blended his interests, accomplishments, and family, and I loved being part of capturing this meaningful moment before graduation.
If you’re looking for a senior photographer in Auburn, Alabama who can help design a session that feels personal and relaxed, whether that means photos with your favorite book, sport, or outdoor adventure spot, I’d love to help make it happen!
