What a fun mix of branding, maternity, and senior photos we’ve had on the blog lately! Today we’re bringing it back to a fun senior session I had recently with Jackson that also included family photos at the end of the day! You’ll want to stay tuned to the end to see that beautiful ending to this session experience.
Jackson is an Auburn Class of 2026 senior, and his family has property about an hour outside of town that has been a big part of their family story and holds many memories for Jackson and his friends as well!
We started the session at a creek on the property that they’ve used to clean up after hunting, and then moved to an old storehouse on the property! We kept a keen eye out for snakes and bugs, and got some really cool nature and rustic shots at these two locations!
Another cool location on the property is a river bank area they call the take out spot, because they love to float down the river and get out there. Our timing wasn’t quite ideal here - we made it right after the water level rose! So we couldn’t go as far out into the river as we hoped, but it was still an awesome scenic spot that made for great photos.
Last up for Jackson, we made stops at one of the corn fields and to a hill called the sunset hill. Our timing here was better, as we were able to capture some of the changing skies in these images! The bad news, when we were up on sunset hill, we could see a big storm with big lightning rolling in, so we had to roll out quickly to get back to the house.
After waiting out the rain, we decided it was just clear enough to manage a few family photos at the house! But none of us expected these photos would also include a beautiful rainbow! Rain days are sometimes really stressful or emotional when things don’t go quite as planned, but to have a rainbow come through for us was just a magical turn of events.
Bonus! The family dogs were on their best behavior and we were able to include them in photos too! So happy with how this whole photoshoot came together and the beautiful memories captured and referenced throughout! Looking forward to more meaningful family session moments this fall!
