Anna Kate | Trinity Senior + Family Portraits Botanic & AU
Anna Kate is a Class of 2026 senior at Trinity School, and her session was the perfect example of how a well-planned senior portrait experience can beautifully blend family photos, personal style, and future plans. We designed her session to begin with family portraits and then transition seamlessly into senior photos, an approach I often recommend for families who want meaningful images from a major milestone year without scheduling two separate sessions.
Both Anna Kate and her mom, Kaci, started their experience with professional hair and makeup by Tori Mejia at Artistry Beauty Bar, which helped everyone feel confident and camera-ready right from the start. We met at Botanic in Opelika, an ideal location for both family photography and senior portraits thanks to its variety of textures, greenery, and soft natural light. The greenhouse and plant nursery provided timeless backdrops, and while we were there, we even updated Kaci’s headshot - another great example of maximizing your session time.
After capturing family photos with her mom, dad, and younger brother, Anna Kate stepped into the spotlight for her senior portraits. One of the biggest keys to a successful senior session is outfit variety, and she nailed it.
At Botanic, she wore a soft blue sweater top with jeans for a casual outdoor look, a white dress inside the gardens for something light and classic, and a red dress inside the greenhouse. The timing couldn’t have been better. We found festive Christmas greenery and red bows that paired perfectly with her dress, adding seasonal interest without overpowering the photos!
Next, we headed to Auburn University’s campus, where Anna Kate plans to attend college. Including future-focused locations is a wonderful way to tell a senior’s story and create portraits that feel meaningful beyond just high school.
On campus, we found beautiful fall colors for a cozy sweater outfit before switching things up with an Auburn jersey for a few fun, school-spirited photos near Samford Hall and Jordan-Hare Stadium.
