Aniston | Opelika Senior Portraits with a Vintage Moody Style

Every senior session is unique, but Aniston’s vision was something especially magical. Inspired by vintage, moody, and almost otherworldly portrait styles, her inspiration board included old churches, dark libraries, streams with a touch of mystery, and romantic dresses. From the moment we began planning, I knew this session would be a chance to really get creative!

Our first stop was St. Dunstan’s Episcopal Church in downtown Auburn. When we arrived, the doors and gates were unfortunately closed, but in one of those perfect little twists of fate, a group of ladies happened to arrive to do some work inside. They kindly let us in, giving us access to the sanctuary, a cool stairwell, and the courtyard! The soft light streaming through the stained glass and the aged details of the church created an atmosphere that matched Aniston’s vision beautifully.

From there, we shifted to downtown Opelika, where Side Track Coffee and the Opelika Library brought a cozy, moody contrast. The record-store vibe of the coffee shop and the warm, layered textures of the library gave us just the right backdrop for portraits that felt dreamy and timeless.

To finish the session, we ventured to a hidden rocky stream! Aniston wore a flowing white lace dress that felt hauntingly beautiful against the natural setting. As dusk settled in, she held a lantern that added a soft, golden glow to the scene, creating portraits that felt mysterious and enchanting.

Aniston’s session was a creative journey, shaped by her vision and made possible by a mix of serendipity, unique locations, and her stunning style. These portraits carry the kind of mood and depth that make them feel like art pieces, and it was an absolute joy to bring this dreamlike concept to life for her!
