Sound Facilitation | Business Branding & Content Photo Session

I recently photographed a business branding and social media content session for a wonderful client named Susan Steele (who also happens to be my beautiful mother)! She started a business here in Auburn and Opelika Alabama offering sound baths for meditation and healing, and of course needed some professional photos to help establish and promote her practice.

Susan has been a believer in the health and wellness benefits of Yoga for a long time. When her friend, a yoga studio owner, pitched the opportunity for her to take things a step further into the world of meditation and sound healing by becoming certified and offering these experiences at the yoga studio, Susan was all in!

Benefits of Sound Baths

Sound baths, also known as sound healing or sonic therapy, have been gaining popularity in recent years for their numerous benefits on the mind, body, and soul. This ancient practice involves immersing oneself in the soothing sounds and vibrations produced by various instruments such as singing bowls, gongs, and drums.

One of the primary benefits of sound baths is relaxation. The harmonious tones and frequencies produced by the instruments help to release tension and promote deep relaxation, allowing individuals to let go of stress and enter a state of tranquility. This relaxation response not only enhances overall well-being but also alleviates symptoms of anxiety, depression, and insomnia.

More About the Photo Session

I love partnering with hair and makeup artists to help my clients feel comfortable and confident and stress-free on session days, so of course I made sure my mom had an appointment with one of my favorite artists, Kara Pettit at Dimensions salon. For Susan’s session, we transformed my studio space into a sound bath studio using all of her different instruments (crystal bowls, a metal bowl, a large gong (her favorite piece), and drums and chimes that represent and mimic sounds and elements of nature). We also went to the Julie Collins Art Museum for an on-location option that added more variety to her portfolio of potential images to use across multiple marketing platforms. It was a really special afternoon spending time with my mom as we each enjoyed doing something we really love!

Susan currently offers sound bath opportunities at Be Yoga on select dates, and is excited to expand her business and the benefits of sound healing to other parts of the community as the demand for this unique and sought after experience grows.
