Rice Family Portraits - Kiesel Park Auburn, AL

Photographers have a unique opportunity to witness and capture the beautiful changes within families from year to year, and I couldn’t help but take a moment to reflect on a recent returning family session! Sarah and Matt asked me to be their photographer for the first time about this time last fall/winter. Lo and David did amazing, and I was SO excited when Sarah reached out to me again this year!

This year David was MUCH more mobile, and honestly so was Lo haha so there was a lot of running around and chasing compared to last year, and it was a little harder to coordinate poses with two small and fast moving subjects as opposed to posing around a pretty stationary baby! Of course, it’s to be expected, and I try to prepare families to expect that some years may have more posed or more candid results than others! It all depends on the stages and phases of childhood :)

Thankfully, we did still capture a few classic moments with smiles toward the camera as well. Notice how those shots happen to align with poses where the children are being held!

The kids have obviously grown so much since then, so I thought it would be fun to share some of the last year vs this year images! I can’t wait to see how these sweet kids grow in the years to come!!
