Bailey | Senior Portraits on Family Land

Bailey’s senior session was everything a photographer dreams of: creative, personal, full of heart, and a little whimsical. I originally met Bailey through a work connection with her mom, but I’ve had the pleasure of getting to know her more over the past few years as she’s assisted me on a few photo sessions! With her quiet confidence and warm, easygoing personality, she’s one of those people who just instantly clicks with everyone. I was so excited to have her step in front of the camera herself!

For her senior session, we headed out to her family’s land to get something different from the usual local senior photo locations! It felt like the kind of place where memories are made - something we actually did talk about before her session even began, and that brought inspiration to the session - more on that later. There was an old wooden bridge stretching across railroad tracks, a quiet, vacant country house that had clearly stood the test of time, wide open fields dotted with beautiful mature trees, and a pond that gave us a dreamy backdrop.

There were a few magic moments during the session - one came when a bumble bee photo bombed a few shots! Usually this would be a disaster but one of Bailey’s nicknames is “Bee”, and her mom was secretly hoping we could incorporate it somehow. Nature delivered! See if you can spot it in the photos above!

One of the other magical moments of the day was something her family planned especially for her session. Inspired by some dreamy portraits they had seen online, they rigged up a swing suspended by farm equipment near the edge of the pond and adorned it with flower garland. Bailey wore a flowing blue and white dress that caught the breeze just right, and the entire setup looked like it was straight out of a storybook. It all came together to create something absolutely stunning! In that same dress, we also recreated a baby photo of Bailey laying on a quilt - so sweet!

Something not as magical that you won’t see in these photos - RAIN! Every summer, pop up thunderstorms threaten to ruin a few session days, and they tried really hard to keep us from having a session this day. But we took shelter when we needed to, hid under trees, endured a little bit of drizzle, and you’d never even know!

Another funny mishap - the bridge you see pictured below had some tar and/or oil on the planks of wood….something we did not know or notice when I asked Bailey to sit for a few poses! No fear though, her grandmother came to the rescue with some expert cleaning skills and no permanent harm was done!

Bailey is a rising senior at Opelika High School and also happens to be the school mascot, something that has brought her a lot of fun and school spirit throughout her high school journey. Naturally, we had to include a few photos with the mascot head for a playful nod to that special part of her experience!

Class of 2026 is lucky to have someone like Bailey representing them, and I can’t wait to see where her creativity and kind spirit lead her next. Now booking more Class of 2026 Seniors!!
