So excited to be sharing this beautiful Auburn High School senior’s photos today! Anna and her mom contacted me about taking Anna’s senior portraits and said they were looking for something different, didn’t want to use the same locations and styling that everyone is used to seeing for senior photos, and I’d say we made it happen! Keep reading to see all the reasons why I loved this senior portrait session with Anna!
First up, Abbie Clayton, one of my amazing go-to hair and makeup artists for photo sessions. Anna mentioned that she loves that her natural curly hair is so unique, and keeping with our goal of making sure this session was uniquely “Anna”, we embraced this awesome feature! Abbie did a perfect job styling Anna’s curls into a swept back partial braid, and paired it with makeup that really made her eyes pop!
Next, location!! Our amazing location was Auburn Oaks Farms. This was my first opportunity shooting a session on this property, and I think we all loved it! The property is currently undergoing lots of changes, including a brand new event center perfect for weddings and parties. Although it was under construction at the time of this session, they told me a bit about their vision of white shiplap walls, and I can tell you that is going to be photographer heaven for all the weddings and events to come. But until then, there are still so many places we loved for photos here! There are a few houses with beautiful big windows that let in natural light, the exteriors are beautiful white with green accents, landscaped with water features, and all set right on a pond, and we even snuck over to the clay shooting area to catch some light through the trees and utilize some natural wood structures in our background.
And of course, Anna herself made this session wonderful. Anna is so easy going and polite, and has such a fun sweet feminine style that suits her so well. I was so impressed as I learned more about her and her plans after high school. She is a tennis player at Auburn, and could probably have graduated early had she not wanted to be part of the team for her final year. Her family has roots in the medical field, and she plans to follow this path as well, with aspirations to attend either Auburn or Ole Miss for PT School! I know wherever she goes, she has a proud family behind her, cheering her on. Can’t wait to see the successes in her future!
