May! The most marvelous month for marriage! This May I had the chance to photograph two beautiful weddings for two beautiful couples with two beautiful love stories. The second of these weddings was on May 12th, for Kieth and Asia.
We became friends with Asia’s family when they moved to Auburn a few years ago, and I was able to take her brother’s senior portraits this year, but I never really had a great chance to get to know Asia before planning for her wedding. As I learned more about Asia and Kieth's love story, I was just so impressed. Originally, their wedding was scheduled earlier on in the year, but had to be postponed due to special military training for Kieth. His graduation from that school was a huge accomplishment, and even without knowing him well personally outside of the wedding festivities, I know it is a great testament to his strength of character and determination. Asia’s love and support, and faithful patience during that time of waiting and changing schedules also greatly impressed me, and makes their reunion all the more special. I am so blessed to have been a part of this day when they were finally, FINALLY able to be married after all the waiting and time apart.
As members of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints, Kieth and Asia were married in a simple but beautifully profound ceremony inside the Birmingham Temple, joined by some of their close family and friends who were able to attend.
Love love LOVE the red, white, and green!
Their reception was held at a beautiful vacation property back in Auburn. This poolside party was DJ'ed by Asia's very cool younger brother Moses, and everyone had a great time! I loved the cake toppers chosen - a custom gold script topper with their new family name, and a metal cutout of a mountain scene with the words "Let the Adventure Begin". Since Asia and Kieth are beginning their married life adventures in Alaska, it was just perfect!
One of my favorite parts of the evening was when I was able to pull Asia and Kieth aside for some dreamy golden hour portraits together before the dances and cake cutting began. What a stunning couple! And the woods next to the vacation home had such magical light!
At the end of the night before wrapping up the party, family and friends gathered around for a fun sparkler walk for Kieth and Asia! I think the happiness on their faces says it all. Congratulations to the newlywed Newsoms! Wishing you both an eternity of love and happiness together!
