Sweeeeet Caroline! (has probably heard that line a billion times, but it fits!) Caroline is a sincerely sweet Auburn High School senior who was an absolute joy to photograph. She is a majorette, an artist, a dancer, and an absolutely beautiful girl with a sweet heart. And her session was amazing!
Like many sessions this year, Caroline’s was set for a day that had a slight chance for rain - which made her mom a little nervous ;) but thankfully after their hair and makeup appointment with Abbie Clayton (Makeup on a Mission), there was no sign of rain on the radar! Just slightly overcast, great for photos weather!!
I shouldn’t say this, but there are certain types of senior photos that I enjoy more than others, and dance photos are definitely near the top of that favorites list. Dance portraits are inherently artistic due to the subject matter, the poses are all about lines and poise, and they showcase the talent and dedication of the person being photographed. The art museum and Auburn University buildings made for magical backdrops for these dance portraits. As a skilled competitive dance family, Caroline and her mom taught me a lot about the important technical aspects of dance that were critical in these portraits (all of the credit for getting that right is exclusively Caroline’s!), which only deepened my appreciation for the incredible talent of these young people. I look forward to seeing Caroline perform as the Sugar Plum Fairy in Variations Studio’s production of the Nutcracker this year!
I also love Caroline’s style! Her outfits were all perfect, and I loved that she wanted to incorporate some extra accessories like these cute felt hats in some of her photos.
Enjoy this special look at some highlights from Caroline’s senior photo session in her Senior Video! I love how everything came together and wish Caroline the best in the rest of her senior year!
